Our History
The Philippine economy started growing after the 1986 EDSA Revolution. Real estate is a very promising sector in a growing economy. Rhineland Realty and Development Corporation was established during this period and first ventured in developing residential units. Rhineland was initially organized as a sole proprietorship by its founder, Mr. Ricardo M. Canicosa, an entrepreneur based in Calamba, Laguna.
By the early 90s, the residential real estate sector has slowed down and the commercial real estate sector started growing. A highly competitive environment inspired quality and innovation in the growing commercial real estate sector.
Commercial developments are no longer focused in Metro Manila. Developments outside Metro Manila became a need due to the fast-growing population in provincial areas. CALABARZON became the center for new commercial and industrial developments in the south. Rhineland Realty and Development was incorporated to capture the growing opportunity in the commercial real estate sector.
Rhineland started to develop small and medium-sized commercial buildings in strategic locations to address the high demand for commercial real estate. These projects are located along the stretch of the old national highway from Biñan to Calamba in the province of Laguna. These commercial structures were made available at affordable prices.
Rhineland Realty and Development Corporation established a track record in the real estate commercial sector within the Calamba – Sta. Rosa – Biñan area. These developments stimulated business growth and improved the quality of commercial structures in the area. Property value surrounding Rhineland’s commercial developments increased.
Rhineland’s flagship project, The Santa Rosa Commercial Complex, was initially planned out in 1995 in a 1.5-hectare property in Balibago with an estimated initial value of Php 24 million. The complex expanded to cover 15 hectares and its current value is now over Php 3 billion.
Rhineland transformed the complex into a main commercial business district and a trade hub in the CALABARZON area. The Santa Rosa Commercial Complex is accessible from all the provinces of CALABARZON thru the Public Transport Central Terminal. The Philippines has an estimated population of 100.98 million as of 2015. CALABARZON has an estimated population of 14.4 million. The Santa Rosa Commercial Complex is accessible to 14.26% of the entire Philippine population.
Rhineland Realty and Development Corporation is managed by seasoned individuals complemented by a group of young and dynamic industry practitioners. The team’s passion for innovation and entrepreneurship is inspired by its founder, Mr. Ricardo M. Canicosa.
